Book Thoughts: Twisted Love by Ana Huang
"What did I tell you? You're mine, Sunshine. You're never touching another fucking man unless you want him six feet in the ground. So yes, we're fucking exclusive."
Alex Volkov, Twisted Love
GENRE: Contemporary Romance
TRIGGERS & DARK THEMES: Abusive parents, Aquaphobia, Panic Attacks, Attempted murder/drowning, Child abuse, Death and violence, Mentions of suicide
TROPES: Brother’s best friend, Forced Proximity, Grumpy Sunshine, Neighbors, Billionaire Romance
HOW IT STARTS:
There were worse things than being stranded in the middle of nowhere during a rainstorm.
QUICK AND SWEET REVIEW:
It took me a while to finish it, but damn, I really loved this!
I liked Ava and Alex when they're together. The way she is able to get under his skin and he is not strong enough to resist her. OMG. I love that.
I liked the drama.
The spice is so good, but I wanted more. I want Alex to choke me. For real.
But I fucking hate it when one of the characters had to omit telling the other character how they feel because they think they're "protecting them".
Like fuck that shit.
That isn't protecting them, that's called emotionally damaging them.
FINAL THOUGHTS & RATING ON TWISTED LOVE:
ENJOYMENT: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
SPICE METER: 🌶️🌶️.5
Overall, I loved Twisted Love! But I can definitely see how others won’t. Alex as a very polarizing MMC, so I get it. So curious how Rhys and Bridget's story will go on the next book.
